2021 Huntington Beach Parade
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Huntington Beach is holding a modified 4th of July Parade for the second year, although it will be larger than the parade last year.
Huntington Beach will also present its evening fireworks show from the HB Pier (July 4 about 9 pm), the Pier Plaza Festival (July 2-4), the Surf City 5K Run (July 4 with flexible starting times between 6:30 and 10:30 am), and the Condor Squadron Flyover and aerial acrobatics (July 4 about 5:25 pm).
This “Surf City Dreamin” themed 4th of July Parade will take place from about 8 am to noon, and will include three different routes with caravans of 13 to 15 vehicles traveling throughout the City. The HB Parade caravans will start in the southern, central and northern parts of Huntington Beach, winding through local neighborhoods and finishing at the HB Pier Plaza parking lot.
The parade caravans will showcase veterans, high school seniors, live entertainment and other community dignitaries. The exact routes and times will be announced via the City’s social media platforms.
The Huntington Beach Pier Plaza Festival will open on July 2 at 11 am. There will be more than fifty vendors, food trucks and games. New for this year is a 12,000 square foot beer & wine garden with premium brands, craft offerings, and a selection of wines from Temecula, Napa, and Sonoma.
There will also be a new Amusement Area, located on the north side of 6th Street at Pacific Coast Highway which will include a 75 foot tall Ferris Wheel, a 90 foot Monster Slide, traditional carnival games, and more.
Entertainment will be hosted at the Main Stage on the Pier, with daily emcees and DJs, hourly giveaways, trivia games, and an evening music and dance experience.
On July 4, at about 5:20 pm, visitors will enjoy a flyover with aerial acrobatics from the WWII-era AT-6/SNJ Texan training aircraft of the legendary Condor Squadron.
At the end of the evening on July 4, at about 9 pm, there will be a 26 minute long fireworks show with premium pyrotechnics launched off the Huntington Beach Pier. The fireworks show can be enjoyed for free with excellent viewing on the beach north and south of the Pier.
